Ukrainian mining company BGV Group Management is deepening its partnership with Finland’s Metso, a leading provider of mining and metallurgical equipment and technologies. The companies are entering a new phase of collaboration on the Yastrebetske deposit project, which targets zircon‑fluorite‑rare‑earth ores.
This is the second joint project between BGV Group Management and Metso, following their previous collaboration in the graphite segment.
– We began working with Metso on the basic engineering for the BGV Graphite project—a processing plant at the Balakhiv graphite deposit. Today, we are continuing our partnership to research rare earth elements and other rare metals. It’s an important step toward building a modern processing base for Ukraine’s strategic resources, says Viktor Tanay, a member of BGV Group Management’s board.
Metso’s research center can develop both beneficiation processes and hydrometallurgical methods to recover rare earths and other valuable elements, opening new opportunities for BGV’s critical minerals projects.
