EastCham to strengthen Kyiv office service concept in autumn 2025

Petri Vuorio from the Confederation of Finnish Industries (EK) Elected Chair of EastCham Board

EastCham will strengthen the service concept of its Kyiv office in collaboration with the Confederation of Finnish Industries (EK) in autumn 2025. The office’s services for companies – such as market research and partner search – will be expanded. Currently, the Kyiv office is led by Olena Kutsai, who serves member companies of EastCham and EK.

At the general meeting on May 22, 2025, EastCham approved the 2024 financial statements and annual report, and confirmed changes to the board composition. Petri Vuorio (EK) was elected as the new Chair of the Board. Mikael Pentikäinen (Suomen Yrittäjät) had committed to serving as Chair of the Board for the first year of the board’s two-year term, which will conclude in spring 2026.

Chair of the Board Petri Vuorio:

“Many thanks to Mikael Pentikäinen for his excellent leadership as Chair and for the collaboration over the past two years. EastCham has established a strong foothold as a provider of expert services for Finnish companies in Ukraine and Central Asia.

EastCham has established a strong foothold as a provider of expert services for Finnish companies in Ukraine and Central Asia.

In the next phase, we will focus on further developing and refining our service offering, with the goal of multiplying the number of Finnish companies involved in Ukraine’s reconstruction over the next two years. In Central Asia, the region’s strategic partnership with the EU is progressing, which is removing trade barriers and opening significant opportunities for Finnish businesses.

In both of these strategically important markets, EastCham provides a strong foundation for the growth and internationalization of Finnish companies.”

CEO of EastCham Jaana Rekolainen:

“Warm thanks to Mikael Pentikäinen for his dedicated and impactful leadership during challenging times. As Chair, Mikael has been a strong advocate for EastCham and an important source of support amid change.

Petri Vuorio is a natural choice as the new Chair, having already been closely involved in EastCham’s activities as Vice Chair. His appointment also supports the deepening cooperation between EastCham and EK in Ukraine.”
