Honkarakenne has signed two significant Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) in Kazakhstan to advance sustainable tourism and ecological timber construction in collaboration with local partners. The agreements were signed in Astana on 28 October during the official visit of President of Finland Alexander Stubb to Kazakhstan.
The first MoU was signed with Burabay Damu and the Burabay National Park. The aim is to develop environmentally friendly tourism infrastructure in the Burabay resort area.
The second MoU was signed with TOR’RE Ltd and Nord Wood House LLP. This agreement focuses on the development of ecological wooden housing solutions in Kazakhstan, including the potential construction of 53 timber houses in a village area owned by TOR’RE Ltd.
Honkarakenne and the local parties will continue negotiations, with a comprehensive cooperation programme expected to be finalised by March 2026. Honkarakenne has 25 years of experience in the Kazakh market.
