Business opportunity: Sustainable construction in Kazakhstan
In Kazakhstan, the residential sector is a significant contributor to greenhouse emissions. This sector is the largest one in energy consumption (34%) followed by the industry (30%) and transport (18,6%) according to IEA data published in 2021. The sector shows inefficient approaches in energy saving that is proved by the low energy efficiency indicators which are significantly behind the level of developed countries.
In order to address the aforementioned issues Kazakhstan has been working on green transition and sustainable development in the construction industry. The government is planning to reduce the energy consumption by 10 % implementing energy saving solutions and technologies by 2029 in the residential housing.
