Nordic Broker opens representative office in Kyiv to support companies participating in Ukraine’s reconstruction
Nordic Broker knows which risks can be insured locally, which require international insurance markets and where specialist solutions are needed.
Finnish insurance broker Nordic Broker is opening a representative office in Kyiv, strengthening its ability to support Finnish and international companies operating in and entering Ukraine.
Nordic Broker has been developing insurance solutions for Ukraine since 2024 and has already assisted hundreds of clients from more than 12 countries with insurance and risk advice related to operations and travel in the country.
– Ukraine’s reconstruction is not something that will suddenly begin when the war ends. Brave companies are already there, investing, building partnerships and preparing for the future. They are not simply waiting for the dust to settle. We want to be there with them, says Hans Kapp, Chairman of Nordic Broker.
Nordic Broker sees insurance as an important enabler for companies entering Ukraine and participating in reconstruction. Companies need to understand which risks can be insured locally, which require international insurance markets and where specialist solutions are needed. Nordic brokers access to the Lloyd´s markets and European insurers is crucial for Finnish and European investors and industrialists in their attempts to invest in Ukraine.
– Our aim is simple: combine international insurance expertise with people and partners on the ground in Ukraine, Kapp concludes.
Strong cooperation in Finland and a warm welcome in Ukraine
The establishment of the Kyiv presence has been supported by an exceptionally strong spirit of cooperation. During the project, Nordic Broker has worked and exchanged information with organisations including Finnpartnership, EastCham Finland, Confederation of Finnish Industries (EK), East Office of Finnish Industries, Business Tampere, and Business Sweden.
Nordic Broker has experienced the same attitude in Ukraine, where our Local Broker Partner, Security providers and insurance professionals and individuals have actively shared their knowledge, contacts and practical assistance.
What has impressed us is how easy people have made it for us to come to Ukraine. Instead of asking why we are coming now, the reaction has very often been: How can we help? There is a genuine do-it-together attitude both in Finland and Ukraine, says Kai Hahl, Director of Ukraine Operations and Commercial Director at Nordic Broker.
