EPSE completes pilot project in Uzbekistan
Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex to adopt advanced Finnish water treatment technology.
EPSE has successfully completed an industrial water treatment pilot project at the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex (AMMC) in Uzbekistan, the company reports. AMMC will be a national first to implement EPSE’s advanced Finnish water purification technology.
The pilot was conducted between April 7 and May 2, 2025, using the Mobile EPSE™ water treatment unit to process three different industrial wastewater streams at AMMC. The use of lime was cut by up to 60%, and the treated water met strict environmental standards. The process also enables the recovery of valuable rare metals from the resulting sludge, turning waste into a potential resource.
Next, the results will be analyzed to support the large-scale implementation of the EPSE™ Method across AMMC’s mining, zinc, and copper operations. In the future, EPSE’s solution is intended to be scaled across various industrial enterprises in Uzbekistan, supporting the country’s environmental goals.
