NordCompostEd

“NordCompostEd” is a project focused on awareness-raising and environmental enlightenment in relation to organic waste in pilot cities: Petrozavodsk, Kaliningrad, Saint-Petersburg, Helsinki and Copenhagen. The results of the project include an environmental awareness-building and creation of a basis for efficient organic waste management system through a network of relevant stakeholders, best practices exchange, a methodology for teaching children and youth and publishing video-materials and brochures for improving citizens’ organic waste awareness. 

The activities include the creation of educational materials, workshops and study visits. The target groups of the project include children and youth, activists, as well as other citizens, relevant educational institutions, NGOs, businesses and public authorities. The timeframe is 19 months. 

The implementing body is Association “Centre for Problems of the North, Arctic and Cross-border Cooperation” from Karelia, and partners come from Finland, Denmark, Saint-Petersburg and Kaliningrad. The main partner from Finland is SYKLI.
